Sello, from Jerusalem squatter camp in Roodepoort, Joburg told Daily Sun his days are numbered. "My wish is to have one last poke before I leave this world." he said.
He said he thinks he was bewitched when he was 40 years old and living in Germiston, Ekurhuleni.

"I had a girlfriend and I thought we would get married. I had a good job and everything was fine."
But his girlfriend fell ill and died in November 1996.
"We had planned to get married in December that same year. I mourned her death for some time. Years later I started looking for a partner but I never found one."

"We were still getting to know each other. We never had sex."
He moved to a run-down house in Snake Park, Soweto and fixed the house but he was evicted there as well.
"I had met a woman and things were promising but I had to move."
He said he is in Jerusalem now, but he thinks he might die before he gets a woman. A Sangoma, Jabulani Mthimkhulu said the madala should have held a cleansing ceremony after his first girlfriend died.
"It seems like her spirit is following him and is very jealous. He won’t have any woman in his life unless he does a cleansing."

Gov Fayose Spotted On Top Of okada On His Way To Government House(pics)

Gov Fayose left the venue of a meeting he was having with Ekiti lawmakers at the government house arcade and went to Fajuyi where he inspected some portion of the ongoing flyover. He also had a measurement of a truck on the express leading to Christ School.

The construction workers hailed and sang for him, the song impressed him and he sorted them in cash as usual. As he continued trekking towards the government house gate, he asked "where are the vehicles"? They went to make U-Turn, replied one of the aides.

At that point he was already in front of the Okada junction, the Okada riders were hailing him already, so he called on one of them, "Oya come, carry me to the government house", the guy obliged and he zoomed off to the government house.

Aba: We Struggle so hard To Produce Made-in-nigeria Shoes

Aba in Abia State prides itself as the “Japan of Africa”, and a creativity hub in Nigeria. The appellation came through the dexterity and ingenuity of its artisans which have endeared it to investors within and outside the country.

Made in Aba products are fast capturing the world market and shoes are no exemption.

Indeed, the shoe section of Ariaria International Market in Aba reveals the ingenuity and the enterprising spirit of the people. This section comprises the Bakassi Zone, Shoe Plaza, Power Line and Imo Avenue. The section is populated with artisans who churn out shoes of different kinds and is estimated to house over 70, 000 shoemakers besides the apprentices under their tutelage.

Various levels of production, marketing and transportation of the products are involved in shoe-making. While the artisans are busy producing, traders from within and outside Nigeria are picking products of their choice while transporters are evacuating them for onward movement to their respective destinations.

Also, dealers on raw materials such as leather, shoe soles, gum, fibre and other accessories make good sales. Women are also compete for patronage at various stages of production.

Interestingly too, the trade is no longer a business for school dropouts and semi- illiterates as graduates are now actively engaged in it. Little wonder, new innovations are being introduced to the trade.

The chairman Power line Shoe Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (POSMAN), Comrade Joseph Nmeri, told Daily Trust on Saturday that they are impressed with the decision of the Nigerian Army to purchase 50,000 pairs of boots from Aba. He said it is a feat which would encourage local manufacturers.

Nmeri added that shoes produced in Aba can last up to three years because of their quality. However, despite the assurance on quality, shoe manufacturers in Ariaria still find it difficult to label their products “Made in Nigeria.”

According to Nmeri, from the early 80’s, manufacturers were labelling products ‘Made in Aba’ and traders were coming from various parts of Africa to place orders. There was no challenge then but sales issues began when Nigeria signed a bilateral trade agreement with China.

He said the Chinese flooded the markets with their shoes.

“To be able to sell our products, we were compelled by the attitude of Nigerians to label our products “Made-in-China” because our customers believed that Chinese shoes were superior.

Also the Chairman, Aba North Industrial Market (Shoe Plaza division), Christian Okoro, said the order by the Nigerian Army was the beginning of good things for the country and products made in Aba, as it can handle demands from even outside the country.

He pointed out that Aba-made products are exported to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Italy, where they are given more touches and imported back to Nigeria and marketed as foreign shoes. Three major factors, according to him, are responsible for this practice. They include craze for foreign goods, lack of interest in locally made products and the absence of modern machines and equipment for perfect finishing on the products.

Okoro said if provided the needed materials and enabling environment, foreign shoes would be no match to those produced in Aba, adding that most of the artisans would be proud to label their products “Made-in-Aba”. He identified their major challenges as high cost of raw materials, importation of inferior materials, especially gum and chemicals and the unwillingness of leather producers in Kano to sell genuine items.

Other daunting challenges, according to him, include unstable power supply, absence of modern equipment and machines, poor access roads and lack of funds. He called for government intervention, especially in the provision of modern machines which he said, would make their products compete favourably in the international market.

He also appealed to the federal government for financial assistance to artisans. He said a loan of N1billion could change the stories of the over 70,000 shoe makers in the market. This will enable them acquire modern shoe-threading machines among others, he added.

An artisan, Elder Kenneth Nwachukwu, who specialises in military and paramilitary shoes and belts, said he needed some funds to acquire the right machines that would enable him manufacture with better finishing.

He said: “Already, we have orders from contractors for the Civil Defence, Police, Navy and National Youth Service Corps. We produce some of the shoes and the contractors buy them at cheap rates.”

Lawrence Agochi, a 42 year- old father of five with 27 years experience in shoe making, identified lack of funds as his major setback.

He said he could produce an average of 50 pairs of shoes a day, but could triple the quantity with improved equipment. He said he needed N2 million to upgrade his machines.

Another shoe maker, Paul Madubike, who has been on the job for 15 years, said he was a fulfilled man. But like his colleagues, the 40 year-old identified irregular power supply and lack of modern equipment as his major challenges. According to him, with modern equipment he could produce 200 pairs of shoes a day to meet increasing demands from his customers.

In the same vein, Mr. Ikechukwu Anaele, Paul Maduabuchi and Boniface Ejike all expressed satisfaction being shoe makers but also identified lack of facilities as major setbacks. They pleaded for government’s intervention to make progress.

They want the government to also ensure that the needed facilities are provided at the proposed industrial cluster for shoes, garments, belts and bags workers at Umukalika in Obingwa council area before relocating the artisans to the new site. This will boost their morale, they said. The artisans expressed readiness to improve on the quality of their products to enjoy the much desired local and international patronage.

2 Ways Shy Girls Act Towards Their Crush (pictures)

15 Ways Shy Girls Act Towards Their Crush (Images)

It’s commonly said that ladies are often inhibited than the male folks. How true!
There is hardly a girl who isn’t guilty when it comes to comporting herself when a crush is around.
However, there are a few who don’t consider it a big deal flirting with the guy giving them sleepless nights.

They walk up to him and say how they are feeling at the moment and that ends it. Quiet girls would rather die than make the first move. Even when they try, it’s usually filled with embarrassing moments. How sad!
I want to share some of them with you:
1. Wait till eternity for him to talk to you even if you are dying inside
Most times, she acts stern just to get his attention. Other times, she brings up a topic she knows must get his contribution, maybe in a small group meeting still to hear his voice. And when eventually he speaks, you are like…blushing...

 2. Stare at your crush until they notice you, then look away really quickly and act like you don’t know they exist.
One lady once told me, if I like a guy, I make life miserable for him. I ignore him like hell. This is an epitome;

Photos: Teenage girl believed to be mentally unstable attempts to purchase N620k phone for N500 in Lagos

The teenage girl pictured above is believed to be mentally unstable. According to a LIB reader who sent in the photos, she went into a phone shop in Surulere, Lagos this afternoon and told the sales rep she wanted to buy a phone that cost N620,000. When she was asked to pay for the phone, she replied, saying that she needed to withdraw the money using the ATM.

When she returned, she brought out N500 and asked the sales rep to hand her the phone. She said it was Tinubu that asked her to come and buy the phones.

The astonished sales rep called in her superior who sat the girl down and asked her for her name. She replied "Chidinma". When pressed further, she said she does not know where she stays and also where she is going to. She has been handed over to police officers from Bode Thomas. Hopefully her family members would see her and arrange for her to be taken home.

Scientists find HIV-AIDs full cure

A British man with HIV undergoing a pioneering treatment to cure him of the disease has shown “remarkable” progress, doctors have told a newspaper.
Scientists treating the 44-year-old patient are now hopeful of a breakthrough in what has been described as “one of the first serious attempts at a full cure for HIV”.
Results showed the man’s most recent blood test showed no detectable HIV was present.
Results showed the man’s most recent blood test showed no detectable HIV was present.
The man, who has remained anonymous, is the first of 50 people to complete a trial using the two-stage attack on the deadly virus.
The research is being carried out by a collaboration of five of Britain’s top universities organised by the National Health Service.
Mark Samuels, managing director of the National Institute for Health Research Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure, told the Sunday Times: “This is one of the first serious attempts at a full cure for HIV. We are exploring the real possibility of curing HIV.
“This is a huge challenge and it’s still early days but the progress has been remarkable.”
The trial patient told the newspaper that recent blood tests showed no detectable HIV virus was present, although it was too early to confirm that the treatment had worked.
The new therapy aims to overcome a major barrier to clearing the virus from a sufferer’s body that has challenged researchers for decades.
Current methods using antiretroviral therapies (Art) fall short of ridding patients of HIV, as the virus can hide out of the drugs’ reach in the immune system’s T-cells.
By sheltering in dormant T-cells the virus can later take over its host and use it to produce thousands of copies of itself, should Art no longer work.
The research by Oxford and Cambridge universities, Imperial College London, University College London, and King’s College London, is testing a “kick and kill” technique to first expose, then destroy the virus.
First a vaccine helps the body find infected T-cells. This is then followed by a course of the drug Vorinostat that awakens the dormant T-cells, which then begin producing HIV proteins that act as a homing beacon to the immune system.
Imperial College London consultant physician Professor Sarah Fidler said the treatment worked in the laboratory and there was “good evidence” it will work in patients.

$15m: Patience Jonathan needs to apologise to Nigerians- APC

Acting National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, said this in a statement released over the weekend while reacting to the recent protest by some Niger Delta youths in Port Harcourt, Rivers state calling on EFCC to leave Patience Jonathan alone over the money found in her account. The statement reads in part;

“My candid advice to Mrs. Patience Jonathan is to apologise to Nigerians for the current economic hardship which Mr. Jonathan’s regime could have easily averted instead of sponsoring shameless protests against the government. Anyway, Nigerians are still waiting for the apology. The show of shame called protest at the Port Harcourt office of the EFCC to demand the unfreezing of Mrs. Jonathan’s dollar accounts was uncalled for. And there is nothing wrong if the former first lady explains the source of the $31.4m to anti-corruption agencies. The country is presently going through recession as a result of mismanagement of the economy left behind by Patience Jonathan’s husband led administration which the APC is working hard to correct as soon as possible. It should be made clear that there is nothing wrong for the EFCC to invite Mrs. Patience Jonathan for questioning if the organization suspects a foul play in the accumulation of such big amount of money. Again, the era of ‘I’m above the law’ is over. This is a change government of accountability where the rule of law is paramount. The number four citizen of this country today, Senate President Bukola Saraki, whose office is prominently recognised by the constitution is facing trial and why not one former first lady that is not recognised by the Nigerian constitution?”

Governor Rochas Okorocha appoints wife as amnesty committee chairman

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has appointed his wife, Nkechi Okorocha, as the chairman of the state Amnesty committee that will address issues concerning repentant militants. This committee was set up after some members of the Niger Delta Avengers and other militant groups surrendered their arms to the state government recently.

During the inauguration of the committee, Okorocha urged the members to come up with ideas that would sustain the peace attained in some of the oil producing areas in the state such as Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta. He asked the committee to look into all the issues raised by the repented militants when they surrendered their arms.

Okorocha noted that with some of the discussions earlier had with the repentant militants, it was discovered that some of the oil companies operating in the oil producing areas in the state, have been igniting some of these troubles for their own selfish reasons.

The committee would therefore define what should be the role of the oil companies in the areas and to make them stop igniting crises in the areas. The committee is also to ensure that militants who surrendered their arms to the state government are removed from all lists of militants in the state. Okorocha in his speech, said he discovered from the testimonies of the born-again militants that some of the traditional rulers from the areas fueled the crisis that emanated from the areas. To curtail this, he cancelled all the memorandum of understanding (MoU) the communities or traditional rulers must have entered into with the oil companies and directed that the government must be aware of any such MoU from now onward. The Amnesty committee was also asked to write to the oil companies not to deal with the communities or traditional rulers again without the approval of the State Government, with the Committee also directed to meet with all the relevant bodies and persons.

The Amnesty Committee was also directed to work towards ensuring that the names of the militants who surrendered their guns and embraced peace are removed from any record or list of militants, organize medical tours in the oil producing areas and ensure special employment of one thousand Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Youths into the State Civil Service. The Amnesty committee has three months to submit its report.
