After a prayer session at a church, the King of music moved home with his family to continue with the celebration, where he received a huge portrait as one of his gifts.
President Buhari has sent his heartfelt message to the veteran act in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.
He said King Sunny Ade had, over the years, brought pride to Nigeria by mastering his art against all odds, taking the African musical genre to the global stage as well as serving as an inspiration and a mentor to upcoming artistes.
President Buhari also acknowledged that the septuagenarian had brought joy to many hearts and homes through his music, commending King Sunny Ade’s love for humanity, especially the less privileged, by setting up a foundation catering for the needs of others.
